2000, Dick Robinson founded The Robinson Consulting Group
Inc., a unique human resources management consulting practice
dedicated to helping growing enterprises achieve a competitive
advantage through their people. He takes pride in being a
human resources business expert delivering innovative, sustainable
and cost effective solutions.
A 30 year senior HR management veteran, Dick’s expertise
includes compensation and total rewards, recruitment and
retention strategies, training, HR planning, policy development
and HR systems. An important part of this work is
human resources risk management and regulatory compliance
in areas such as health and safety, privacy and employment
law.
Highlights of Dick’s varied experience as a hands-on
HR manager include:
- Director of Compensation and Benefits for the Calgary
Health Region. A major accomplishment was the re-engineering
of all compensation and benefits programs and related
policies and procedures for 16,000 employees following
the simultaneous merger of 8 previously autonomous organizations.
- Director of Human Resources for Alberta Children’s
Hospital; acknowledged as a leader in staff programs
and services.
- A senior Human Resources executive for an innovative
and respected department store chain in Western Canada.
Before entering the private sector, Dick gained considerable
first line management and HR experience while serving as
an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces in Canada and on
UN and NATO duties in Europe.
Dick is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
He holds an Honours BA (Economics and Commerce) with first
class honours from the Royal Military College of Canada,
Kingston, Ontario. Dick served on the Board of the Human
Resources Association of Calgary in an executive capacity
from 2002 to 2006 and is currently active in numerous professional
organizations. |
